Great Wall, one of the seven wonders in
the world. was built to defend against nomadic invaders. It is the largest piece
of military defensive engineering in the world which took the longest time to be
built, repaired and extended. Great Wall stands for the crystallization of the blood,

Great Wall is a remarkable military defensive architecture in ancient China. Its
genesis dates back to 700 BC to 500 BC. It was in Qin Dynasty that Great Wall really
began to take shape. After that, the dynasties of Han, Southern and Northern Dynasties,
Sui, Tang, Liao, Jin, Ming and Qing successively contributed to the construction
of Great Wall.
Badaling Great Wall
Badaling Great Wall was built in Ming Dynasty. It was a defensive archetecture in
the north of the capital, playing an important role in terms of military affairs.
Lying in the northwest of Beijing. It was built along the mountain ridges. The wall
is 7.8 m tall and 5.8 m wide, so it can accommodate five horses abreast.
Juyong Pass
Juyong Pass, situated in the northwest of Beijing, is 800 m above the sea level
and is very precipitous and perilous.
Jiayu Pass
Jiayu Pass, located in Gansu province, is the western terminus of Great Wall and
is reputed to be the most impregnable pass in the world.
Shanhai Pass
Shanhai Pass, situated in the city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, is called the
"first pass of Great Wall"
